It’s been FOREVER!!!

IMG_0049

It has been forever since I last posted! A lot has happened and I don’t know if I can share everything with you.

Basically I have made it to somewhat of a Z-list celebrity status. I know it’s not ideal, but it’s a place to start. Very exciting! I’ve been home in Salt Lake City for the past couple of weeks and it’s been really difficult adjusting to celebrity status. I even have the local rags after me, but I try not to let them get me down. They even interviewed me, because I’m kind of a big deal here in Salt Lake.

Who would have thought a boy from Sandy would make it this far. I’ve been hanging out with celebrities like Aubrey O’Day formerly of Danity Kane. She is a total sweetheart and we are basically best friends. We recently went to an event called Music Saves Lives. It was a ton of fun. Ashlan Gorse was also there and she is probably the most beautiful person I’ve ever met.

The “17 Again” premiere was out of control!!! I got to meet Zac Efron (again), The Jonas Brothers, Michelle Trachtenberg, and a few others. I don’t want to sound like a total name dropper. The movie was really cute and fun. It was weird to be sitting near the people that were in it. I wonder how they feel about it? That’s why I won’t watch HSM3. I would just feel so weird knowing I was there!

That’s pretty much it for now. I will be posting more stories later. I just wanted to say “Hey!” to all of my fans and readers! You all rock and make Kaderade.com possible!

Post Oscar Wrap Up!

Well we watched the Oscars last night, and it was pretty amazing. It was a show unlike most that I’ve seen. The dance numbers, the awards, but most of all the speeches that were given.

I was so happy when Dustin Lance Black won for Milk, and his speech was quite moving. The other speech that hit me quite hard was Kate Winslet. It wasn’t anything over the top, but something more personal. She talked about how she used to practice her Oscar speech in the bathroom, and she pretended that her shampoo bottle was the award.

I’d be lying if I said that I hadn’t done that before. I’ve stood and felt like I was looking over a sea of people. My breath quickening, my ears ringing, as I wrap my hand around the gold statuette. I find myself at a loss for words, because this is it. This is everything that I’ve worked for my whole life. The one thing that seemed unattainable. I thank everyone in my life, and pinch my arm to see if it’s real.

The pinch hurts and I’m back in my bathroom. No bright lights, no sea of people, and no gold statuette. The dream has come to an end and I’m simply alone waiting for the water to warm up. I get in the tub and realize that if I want it I can have it. If I continue forward and do my best, the world is mine. And that gives me comfort…

Oscars are TONIGHT!!

oscar09poster6

Tonight, just down the street from where I live, the Oscars will be going on. Celebrities will show up for the biggest night in Hollywood, to attend the 81st Acamdemy Awards. The Oscars is an invite only event and is something only many people dream about going to. As I’m working towards getting there myself, I like to predict who’s going to win! I also daydream about walking down the red carpet and knowing that my name is on one of the categories. This is the pinnacle of any career, and shows that you have worked incredibly hard to get where you are. It’s so close I can taste it somedays…anyway, onto my predictions!

Laughing at Myself!

Somedays just to get through the day, I have to look back and laugh at myself. Life takes us in so many unexpected ways, and it’s funny how you end up in certain situations. In the moment it can be pretty scary, but in retrospect it’s what makes me able to deal with so many things.

I remember going to New York last year for a few auditions. A friend had agreed to let me stay with him for the few days that I was there. We spent the night laughing and catching up. We ended up going to a friend’s birthday party and getting home pretty late. I fell asleep almost instantly.

I woke up the next morning and went to brunch with some friends. It was a lot of fun, but I ended up having to walk home in the rain. I didn’t mind it all that much, because I was in New York! I was in my favorite city! Little did I know that when I got back to my friend’s place everything would change…

Walking into the door, I saw my friend standing there. He said, “Pack your sh** and get out.” Thinking it was a joke, I started to pack kind of laughing about it. When I zipped up my suitcase, he grabbed it, stuck it outside the door, and said “Text me later so I know you’re fine.”

I was quite shocked and didn’t know what to think. I stood there and then pulled my suitcase down onto the street and started wondering what I was going to do. After the tears started to pour, I realized that I had quite a few friends in NYC. I called one and he told me to get down to Wallstreet and I could stay with him. My life had been saved! I wouldn’t have to sleep on a park bench or get a hotel!

When I got down there, we went out for dinner and hung out. It was much more relaxed and he was an amazing host. So I stayed there for a couple of nights, but then one morning there was a loud bang on the door. I pulled the pillow over my head thinking it was an angry neighbor. Suddenly, flashlights and yelling everywhere. I woke up with a gun pointed at my face and a bright light in my eye. I didn’t know what was going on.

Well, low and behold it was the NYCSwat. I was caught in a sting. It wasn’t involving me, but my host. They handcuffed me, pulled all my stuff apart, and questioned me A LOT! When they realized that I didn’t have any information they let me go. I was ONCE AGAIN homeless in NYC. I walked the street and talked to my mom, but then suddenly my phone died, and I had left my charger in the condo. I thought nothing else could possibly go wrong. Then it did…

The electronics stores weren’t going to open for about 3 more hours. I was stuck with my suitcase, dead phone, and morning breath. Suddenly the clouds parted and the beauty that is K-Mart in the middle of Manhattan was in front of me. I rushed in and found battery powered charger for my phone. I called my mom and hopped on the Long Island Rail Road and headed to my mom’s friend Jackie! It was a miracle!

I look back on something like that and just laugh. How did I get myself in such a situation? I guess there are times that I get very optimistic and don’t even think about it. I tend to just dive in head first, not even waiting to see the “NO DIVING” signs. Sometimes I hit my head and other times I just keep going. That’s how I’ve always lived my life…Just keep going…

CONAN MOVES TO LA!!

0000035599_20061031164005

In just one short week…CONAN O’BRIEN MOVES TO LOS ANGELES!! I have always been a really big fan of this guy. He is extremely hilarious and I feel that he is a much better comedian than Jay Leno, but Jay does have his moments. The fact that both will be in LA just means all the more opportunity for me to attend tapings! I seriously CAN’T WAIT!!

I think the moment where he went to visit Finland was when I fell in love with the man. Conan knows just how to get a laugh and always seems to have new material. His skits are original and aren’t the same thing over and over. I highly encourage everyone to watch as he premiers at an earlier time on NBC! It’s gonna be AMAZING!!

Learning to Live Frugal…

The first piece of advice that I received before moving to LA was, “Save lots of money because it is expensive.” I heeded that advice pretty well, but I didn’t understand how expensive until I got here. The great thing about LA…everyone knows how expensive it is, so they have stores for saving.

Colin and I go shopping every week or two at a number of different locations. We look for the best deals and try to find food that’s going to last awhile. Where we live is not too far from a $.99 Store, Ralph’s, and other discount food stores. It’s really convenient and it’s extremely cheap. I don’t think we’ve ever spent over $10 a piece on a weeks worth of groceries. That must mean we are frugal, smart, and skinny! Ok, the last one was a joke. We eat very well…

Another thing that people don’t do here very often is eat out. At home eating out is a weekly thing…sometimes twice a week. In LA you maybe eat out every couple of weeks if you can afford it. Colin and I are still getting used to that trend. We haven’t eaten out A LOT, but more than our fair share. I suppose we’ll have to start sharing plates.

Today is the day we are getting really serious about finding a job. We plan to walk to the malls and get applications, fill them out, and hope for the best. It’s really been tough to find work, and I can understand that with the economy the way that it is. I feel that I have quality skills that can be put to use. Now it’s just finding a job that’s going to let me!

I’m really not that worried, because everything so far has really come together. Even at the last minute something happens and we land on our feet. Hopefully that isn’t the case for everything, but for right now it works.

CELEBRITY INTERVIEW: ME!!!

2008nov02-chloelane_dsc0177

So, I mentioned that at the party I attended there were camera crews doing interviews. Well the wait is over and my interview is here! I’m really excited about this, and I hope that everyone will watch it. It really is such an honor to be interviewed and put my voice out there. It’s only a little snippet, but it was a great opportunity. They interviewed every celebrity there…AND I GOT CHOSEN!!

You may have to fast forward a bit, but it will be worth it. I said that another charity that I support is “The Trevor Project”. This charity is a round the clock crisis and suicide line for teenagers. I truly do believe in it and that people should be aware that people do need help at all ages when dealing with the stresses of life.

If you want to watch the interview go HERE!

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!! I really do appreciate all the support and love. It’s time to give back and really see what a group can do when they are together.

Flakes…LEFT AND RIGHT!!

Sorry this is gonna be a really short post, but…

Colin and I were lucky enough to have a visitor from Utah this weekend, so it’s been a little bit crazy! I’ve really come to appreciate the people in Utah, because they mean what they say. Down here in LA…people are FLAKEY! I’m having a bit of an issue with this because I have always been one to mean what I say.

Over the past week I’ve had people make plans and then break them at the very last second. I can’t believe it! How hard is it to send me a text or a call saying that you aren’t going to make it. Instead…they just don’t show up. It’s very frustrating!

Anyways! We are off to the airport! I hope that everyone had a great weekend and I will be posting much more VERY soon!!

AUDITIONS!!

So I went to my first round of auditions this weekend, and it went…ok. I can’t say that I didn’t expect myself to be a little bit rusty, but I thought that I did just fine. Acting for me has always been second nature. I’ve also had some really amazing acting coaches in the past. I guess it’s just finding a role that’s going to fit me.

I’m really tired after stressing about it haha. I’m not much of a stress case, but for some reason this first round of auditions scared me to death. Now that the ice has been broken…I’M READY FOR MORE!! I just gotta keep on going and I’ll find my way for sure.

Now…to find some more auditions!

PEREZ and other annoyances of Hollywood!

2947937512_d173d97202

I just came across some “news” on Perezhilton.com about my friend Nolan Gerard Funk. They are saying that he was a “go-go dancer” at a gay club in Los Angeles called MJ’s. Along with many other inappropriate things! Nolan is a very talented actor, whom I’ve had the opportunity to work with. I doubt that this gossip is true, and even if it is WHO CARES!!

Basically, I just want to talk about how these “stories” affect jobs, lives, and families. I’ve found that here in Hollywood people will do ANYTHING to latch onto a celebrity and make a story out of it. Perez Hilton Mario Lavandeira is just one of these many leeches out there. He finds joy in making fun of others, as well as a ton of money.

I find this to be extremely wrong! WTF MAN!? Mario puts himself up on a pedestal above others as if he has never done anything wrong. I would love to see what skeletons would come out of his closet…OH WAIT no I don’t, because no one would really care. The only reason he is popular is because he talks about other celebrities. He belongs on his own self-proclaimed Z-List.

People who actually take this as legitimate NEWS are just as bad as the people who write it! Please just take that stuff as pure entertainment and nothing more. Mario doesn’t know what he’s talking about half the time, and is probably stoned while doing it. Is he SO desperate that he resorts to, “This guy that might be big one day, might be gay!” How lame does that sound? And who cares who is gay anymore…MOST OF HOLLYWOOD IS GAY!

As for Nolan, just stick it out man, you’ll be fine, and don’t let someone as insipid as Perez Hilton bring you down!
